The Quaker United Nations Office—New York invites applications for its 2012-13 internship program. The internship offers an opportunity for college graduates, with an interest in international affairs and a commitment to Friends' principles, to work at the UN. Currently, QUNO-NY focuses on issues of peacebuilding and prevention of violent conflict. Interns work closely with permanent staff on one or more issue areas and support office administration. Friends United Meeting seeks a motivated individual to assist in the promotion of Quaker Life magazine. Quaker Life will be doing special promotions in 2012, sending magazines to an additional 7,000 U.S. households. To cover the cost to print and mail these additional magazines, we are seeking an individual to sell advertisements for these special issues. Compensation will be a commission on all ads sold. Become an FCNL Intern! Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL) is now accepting applications for the intern class of 2012-13. Prospective interns can find more information and an application online. FCNL offers 11-month internships in our legislative and campaigns programs. Interns help change public policy by attending hearings and coalition meetings, writing articles and action alerts and mobilizing our supporters. Interns have professional supervision and the opportunity to grow on the job. They receive subsistence-level salary, health benefits, vacation, sick leave and a public transportation stipend. Monteverde Friends School is seeking a Friend-in-Residence to serve in a volunteer capacity as a Development Coordinator. The Friend-in-Residence Development Coordinator will manage a program to attract the maximum gift and grant support possible to Monteverde Friends School (MFS), using methods consistent with Quaker practices. The current development program of the school includes an annual solicitation, publications, the sale of goods, and supporting parents with their fundraising events. The Development Coordinator will support these activities and expand on this program by crafting grant proposals to foundations and businesses, and developing new and innovative fundraising activities. Friends Association for Higher Education seeks an administrative coordinator. The responsibilities include managing FAHE's communications, financial records, serving as registrar for its annual conference, and coordinating the work of its committees.
